Issue
City flagged increased runoff risk from our site contributing to downstream flooding during peak rainfall events. Required hydrologic mitigation plan before proceeding.
Assessment
Performed runoff calc using NRCS CN method. Analyzed pre- vs. post-development flow rates. Soil infiltration and saturation data reviewed. 10–100 yr storm scenarios modeled.
Solution
Engineered an on-site weir and detention basin. Designed to temporarily retain excess stormwater > designated thresholds and release at controlled rate. System sized per city drainage criteria.
Result
Mitigation accepted by city. No downstream impact. Construction approved. Compliance achieved without altering buildable area.
